About Valor Classical Academy
Valor Classical Academy is a Christian classical school serving the Stillwater area of Minnesota. We operate on a concentrated three-day core schedule (Tuesday–Thursday), with Monday and Friday reserved for families to implement practice and preparation at home. This structure keeps the family central while delivering a rigorous Liberal Arts education.
Our Mission: To provide a concentrated, truth-focused, Liberal Arts education that lays a foundation of mastery and develops the skill of Christian discernment through joyful interactions that engage the thinking skills of the student.
Our Deep Hope: That our students become courageous leaders who glorify the Lord — holding deep convictions rooted in the authoritative truth of the King of Kings no matter what circumstances they face.
We use learning levels rather than traditional grade levels, assessing each student in math, reading, and writing to place them where they will thrive. Our curriculum integrates Scripture across every subject — the faith is not an add-on but woven into how each discipline is taught.
The Position
The 6th Grade Teacher will lead a classroom of grammar-stage students, delivering Valor's Christian classical curriculum with faithfulness and forming students in character, competence, and doctrinal understanding inside a classroom of joyful order.
Responsibilities
- Teach the Christian classical curriculum faithfully. Every lesson reflects the approved scope and sequence and weaves Scripture and the classical method into daily instruction.
- Assess honestly and grade on time. Student work is assessed honestly and returned promptly with meaningful feedback. Grades are entered accurately and on time every grading period.
- Form Christian character and virtue. Character formation is part of the job, not a side effect. You model and form Christian character and virtue in daily interactions with students.
- Maintain a classroom of joyful order. The classroom is well-ordered and joyful, reflecting truth, goodness, and beauty. Published discipline standards are upheld consistently.
- Participate in the life of the school. You take part in the rhythms and events of the school as a formative leader, not a bystander.
- Partner with parents. You prepare for and hold parent conferences, send unit overviews and highlights to families, and communicate any significant student concern to parents within the defined window.
